Requires physicians (MDs and DOs) and nurses licensed under Florida Chapters 458, 459, and 464 (Part I) to complete a 2-hour continuing education course on sickle cell disease care management as part of every second biennial license or certification renewal

Course content must cover evidence-based treatment protocols for all ages, patient and family education, comprehensive evaluations, psychosocial care, genetic counseling, and pain management related to sickle cell disease and sickle cell trait

The 2-hour course may count toward the total continuing education hours required for the profession, unless the profession's biennial CE requirement is fewer than 30 hours

Practitioners holding two or more applicable licenses may satisfy the requirement for all licenses by completing a single board-approved course

Failure to comply constitutes grounds for disciplinary action under the applicable practice act, and the licensee must still complete the required course; effective date is July 1, 2025
