SB 528 – Political Polls

• Creates section 106.146, Florida Statutes, requiring all political polls conducted within the state to include the phrase "Sponsored and paid for by" followed by the name of the sponsoring persons or organizations
• Applies to political polls conducted by telephone call, text message, or email, with specific formatting requirements for each medium (e.g., stated at the beginning of calls and texts; displayed in bold, 12-point font in emails)
• Defines "political poll" as a sampling or collection of responses to questions on a political subject taken from a selected or random group of persons or voters for analysis purposes
• Willful violations constitute a first-degree misdemeanor, with criminal liability extending to individuals, candidates, officers of political committees or party executive committees, corporate officers, partners, attorneys, and agents acting on their behalf
• Effective date is July 1, 2025
