Restaurant Reservation Anti-Piracy Act (CS for SB 940)

• Prohibits third-party reservation platforms from listing, advertising, promoting, facilitating, selling, or otherwise enabling reservations at public food service establishments in Florida without a contractual relationship or agreement with the restaurant
• Defines "third-party reservation platform" as any website, mobile app, or internet service that offers reservations at a restaurant it does not own and with which it has no contractual relationship
• Exempts contractual designees acting on behalf of an individual customer who arrange personal, nontransferable reservations at no cost, provided they share the customer's contact information with the restaurant and honor opt-out requests
• Authorizes the Division of Hotels and Restaurants to impose civil penalties of up to $1,000 per violation, with violations accruing daily for each reservation and each affected restaurant
• Takes effect July 1, 2025
