Mandates that high school students entering grade 9 in 2026-2027 or later earn one credit in Smart Living to receive a standard high school diploma, reducing elective credit requirements from seven and one-half to six and one-half

Covers financial literacy topics including personal budgeting, credit and loans, debt management, tax filing, home buying, and writing checks in cursive, as well as FAFSA completion guidance

Includes instruction in personal future planning (career readiness, resume creation, scholarship applications, post-graduation paths), critical thinking, practical life skills such as changing a car tire and home maintenance, and cursive reading and writing
