Creates Section 112.235, Florida Statutes, requiring municipalities, counties, and other political subdivisions to issue first responder identification cards to eligible public works employees

Defines "public works employee" as a public employee primarily involved in construction, maintenance, repair, or improvement of buildings, highways, roads, sewers, water systems, electrical/gas distribution systems, and other publicly-owned facilities

Limits eligibility to public works employees who are not on probation

Specifies that receiving the identification card does not affect an employee's salary, pension, or other employment benefits

Effective date: July 1, 2026
