Defines "surgical smoke" as gaseous byproducts from energy-generating devices like lasers and electrosurgical tools, including surgical plume, bio-aerosols, and lung-damaging dust

Defines "smoke evacuation system" as equipment that captures and filters surgical smoke before it contacts the eyes or respiratory tracts of room occupants
