School district employees are prohibited from using corporal punishment on public school students in Florida

Removes existing statutory provisions that allowed teachers and principals to administer corporal punishment with parental consent and another adult witness present

Eliminates the requirement for district school boards to review corporal punishment policies every 3 years at public meetings

Removes corporal punishment from the list of disciplinary procedures to be included in student codes of conduct

Effective date: July 1, 2026
