Department of Law Enforcement must impose $10,000 fines against law enforcement agencies for each violation of immigration enforcement assistance agreements, with collected funds directed to a victim compensation program

Creates a compensation program for Florida residents who have suffered harm caused by unauthorized aliens, requiring the harm to have occurred in Florida on or after July 1, 2026

Establishes a cause of action allowing estates of persons killed by unauthorized aliens to sue local governments or law enforcement agencies that have sanctuary policies or violated immigration enforcement agreements

Waives sovereign immunity for tort liability in wrongful death lawsuits brought under this act, exempting these cases from standard state liability limits under s. 768.28

Effective date: July 1, 2026; may be cited as the "Shane Jones Act"
