Amends Florida Statute 456.0301 to add sickle cell disease pain treatment to the required 2-hour continuing education course on prescribing controlled substances for DEA-registered prescribers

The existing required course already covers current prescribing standards for controlled substances (particularly opiates), alternatives, nonpharmacological therapies, emergency opioid antagonists, and opioid addiction risks in acute pain management

Course must be completed as part of biennial license renewal and may be offered in distance learning format

Department may not renew licenses for prescribers who fail to complete the course

Effective date: July 1, 2026
