Beginning in 1958, the committee investigated alleged homosexual activity at University of Florida and statewide public schools, using entrapment and coercion without legal counsel, resulting in 14 faculty firings and revocation of teaching certificates

In 1961, the committee targeted University of South Florida faculty and administrators, questioning them about course content and attempting to discredit them as atheists, integrationists, and communist sympathizers

The committee spent 9 years using unconstitutional methods funded by taxpayers to combat legal desegregation efforts and destroy the livelihoods of educators and professionals
