Department of Children and Families must coordinate with organizations focused on empowering children with lived experience in the child welfare system and meet quarterly to address challenges and opportunities.

Each community-based care lead agency must similarly coordinate and meet quarterly with organizations empowering children with lived experience.

Meetings may be held in person, via teleconference, or other electronic means, and must have a formal agenda with minutes posted on respective websites.

Beginning in 2027, biannual reports (due February 1 and August 1) must be published on department and lead agency websites detailing how suggestions from these organizations have been implemented.

Effective date: July 1, 2026.
