Creates section 162.41, Florida Statutes, requiring governmental entities that permit code inspectors to wear body cameras to establish policies and procedures for proper use, maintenance, and storage of cameras and recorded data.

Code inspectors must be permitted to use body cameras to record any encounter with a member of the public while performing their duties.

Governmental entities must train all personnel who wear, use, maintain, store, or release body camera data and must retain recordings in accordance with public records law (s. 119.021).

Periodic reviews of actual body camera practices are required to ensure conformity with established policies and procedures.

Chapter 934 (wire, electronic, and oral communications interception laws) does not apply to body camera recordings made by code inspectors; effective July 1, 2026.
