Educator preparation institutes may allow program participants to enroll in and complete introductory coursework while working to obtain an eligible statement of status of eligibility in their certification subject area

Persons with expired professional certificates may now qualify for temporary educator certification if they complete standard requirements outlined in s. 1012.56(2)(a)-(f)

Reinstatement of expired professional certificates will include all subject area coverages and endorsements held at the time of expiration; the requirement to pass subject area examinations for reinstatement is eliminated

The Florida Center for Teaching Excellence must collaborate with the David C. Anchin Center for the Advancement of Teaching at USF and is now required (rather than authorized) to submit a professional learning system for department approval

Certified educators seeking to renew or reinstate certificates may use the Florida Center for Teaching Excellence professional learning system at no cost, with the center submitting inservice points to the department on educators' behalf
