Expands the definition of "relative" under Florida's public ethics laws (s. 112.312) to include foster parents who raised a public officer or employee during their minority, and current or former foster children of the public officer or employee

Applies to legally recognized foster relationships in the jurisdiction where the relationship occurred

Reenacts s. 1001.421, F.S., to incorporate the expanded definition, which prohibits district school board members and their relatives from soliciting gifts or accepting gifts over $50 from vendors or entities doing business with the school district

Takes effect July 1, 2026
