Consumers may report defective farm equipment to manufacturers during the warranty period or within 1 year of delivery, and manufacturers must repair the equipment at no cost to the consumer

Manufacturers must replace defective farm equipment or provide a full refund (including sales tax and fees, minus depreciation) if they cannot fix the problem after a reasonable number of repair attempts

Three or more failed repair attempts for the same defect creates a legal presumption that the manufacturer has had reasonable opportunity to fix the equipment; all repair attempts must occur within 18 months of the consumer's written report

Affirmative defenses available to manufacturers include: the defect does not substantially impair use/value, or the defect resulted from consumer abuse, neglect, or unauthorized modifications

Consumers may bring civil action for violations; applies to farm equipment sold on or after July 1, 2026
