Lowers the threshold for a third-degree felony charge from two prior convictions to one prior conviction for assault, battery, or violation of an injunction/foreign protection order against the same victim

Applies when a person with one or more prior convictions subsequently violates any injunction or foreign protection order against the same victim

Requires a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 days in county jail for each violation, unless the court imposes a nonsuspended period of incarceration in a state correctional facility

Defines "conviction" to include any determination of guilt from a plea or trial, regardless of whether adjudication is withheld or a nolo contendere plea is entered

Takes effect October 1, 2026
