Division of State Fire Marshal must accept firefighter training and certification from other states if requirements are substantially equivalent or more stringent than Florida's standards

Before denying a firefighter certificate, the division must make a formal finding that the applicant's "basis certificate" from another jurisdiction is not substantially equivalent or is insufficient for Florida certification

Employers are prohibited from requiring firefighter employees to bring contaminated personal protective equipment or firefighting gear home

Division must adopt rules establishing best practices for employers related to handling contaminated personal protective equipment and firefighting gear
