Building permits for single-family dwellings expire 1 year after issuance or on the effective date of the next Florida Building Code edition, whichever is later; local governments must provide 30-day written expiration notice to property owners and contractors

Local governments must exempt single-family dwelling owners from building permits for work valued under $7,500, excluding electrical, plumbing, structural, mechanical, gas work, and properties in flood hazard areas

Private providers may perform building code plans review and inspections, with local enforcement agencies required to reduce permit fees by at least 25% for plans review or inspections performed by private providers, or 50% if both services are provided

Offsite-constructed residential dwellings must be permitted as of right in any zoning district where single-family detached dwellings are allowed; local governments cannot treat them more restrictively than site-built homes

Florida Building Commission must develop uniform statewide commercial and residential building permit applications by July 1, 2027; local governments must approve permits within 5-60 business days depending on project type
