Department of Management Services assumes responsibility for Capitol Center visitor aesthetics and must consider security of the Capitol Center and surrounding areas in long-range development planning

Department of Management Services, in consultation with Capitol Police, required to establish enhanced security measures in Capitol Center parking areas to protect legislators, state officers, employees, and visitors

Capitol Police authorized to patrol and conduct law enforcement activities in the area surrounding the Capitol Complex between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with the surrounding area defined as extending north to East/West Park Avenue

Operational security plans must now address crime and vagrancy in the area surrounding the Capitol Complex, and Capitol Police must provide a report to the Legislature with recommendations to enhance safety in the surrounding area

Ex officio law enforcement agents (from Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, FDLE, and other state/local agencies) authorized to patrol both the Capitol Complex and surrounding area when authorized by the executive director
