Manufacturers distributing 1,000+ vehicles of a particular line-make in Florida during any 12-month period are prohibited from distributing more than 33.33% of those vehicles to a single dealer or to dealers sharing common ownership (defined as more than 30% equity interest).

Licensees may reject dealer ownership succession or franchise transfers if approving them would cause violation of the new distribution concentration limits.

Upon franchise termination, manufacturers must repurchase new motor vehicles with 2,000 miles or less (or motorcycles with 100 miles or less), plus unused parts, signs, and special tools at net cost or fair market value.

The distribution concentration requirement does not apply to line-makes that had a licensed franchised dealer in Florida as of January 1, 2026, or to manufacturers not prohibited from owning their own dealerships.
