Pharmacists may administer medications during life-threatening emergencies at Level I, Level II, or pediatric trauma centers when directed by a licensed physician

Qualifying pharmacists must have completed an accredited postgraduate residency training program OR at least 3 years of direct patient care in a hospital setting

Trauma centers permitting this delegation must maintain documentation verifying the pharmacist meets qualification requirements under s. 395.0197(5)

Level I, Level II, and pediatric trauma centers must develop procedures, protocols, and systems to permit and comply with pharmacist medication administration during emergencies
