Defines "dental screening" as a limited, noninvasive visual inspection of the mouth to identify obvious signs of dental disease, explicitly excluding diagnosis, treatment, or instruments that penetrate tissue

Authorizes dental screenings under the school health services program to be conducted after written notice to parents at the beginning of the school year, with a reasonable opportunity for parents to opt out in writing

Exempts dental screenings from the parental consent requirements in s. 1014.06, allowing them to proceed under the opt-out notification process rather than requiring affirmative consent

Applies to both public school districts and nonpublic schools voluntarily participating in the school health services program

Takes effect July 1, 2026
