Counties and municipalities may authorize code enforcement officers to enforce regulations on vessels at risk of becoming derelict and long-term anchoring permit requirements, subject to Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission approval and rulemaking.

Code enforcement officers authorized under these provisions may issue noncriminal infractions using the uniform boating citation system, with penalties of $100 for first offense, $250 for second offense, and $500 for third or subsequent offenses.
