Florida Building Commission and State Fire Marshal must establish safety design standards for office surgery suites by January 1, 2027

Standards must allow office surgery suites to treat up to six outpatients simultaneously who are incapable of self-preservation during emergencies due to treatment, anesthesia, or illness/injury

"Office surgery suite" is defined as the portion of a physician's office where surgery is performed

New standards will serve as an alternative to existing ambulatory health care occupancy design standards
