District school boards must implement a mandatory electronic alert system within their data management systems to notify school administrators, child study teams, and parents when a student reaches the truancy threshold for absences

Alerts are triggered when students reach the district's truancy threshold, which under existing law is 5 unexcused absences within a calendar month or 10 unexcused absences within a 90-day period

The bill amends Florida Statutes sections 1003.26, 984.151, and 1003.02 to add the new alert requirement and conform cross-references

Effective date is July 1, 2026
