Department of Environmental Protection prohibited from issuing or renewing permits for Class B biosolids land application sites that dispose of septage when a higher-level treatment facility exists within 30 miles

Alternative treatment facility must be owned or operated by federal government, state government, or political subdivision of Florida to trigger the permit restriction

Alternative facility must be operational, not defunct, not repurposed, and have available capacity

Amends section 403.0855, Florida Statutes, by adding new subsection (6) to biosolids management requirements

Effective date: July 1, 2027
