Patient-identifying information held in the Parkinson's disease registry is made confidential and exempt from public records requirements under s. 119.07(1) and the State Constitution.

Disclosure is permitted to the Parkinson's Disease Research Board and to private entities contracted to maintain the registry, provided they submit a research plan, maintain confidentiality, destroy records after research concludes, and refrain from contacting patients.

The exemption is subject to the Open Government Sunset Review Act and will automatically repeal on October 2, 2031, unless reenacted by the Legislature.

The effective date is contingent upon HB 1443 or similar legislation being adopted in the same legislative session and becoming law.
