Plantation Acres Improvement District in Broward County converts from an independent special district to a dependent district of the City of Plantation, with the city council and mayor assuming governance as the board of supervisors

Repeals six previous special acts (chapters 67-924, 82-274, 86-355, 99-426, 2002-367, and 2009-251, Laws of Florida) that established and governed the independent district

All assets, liabilities, financial allocations, contracts, and legal proceedings of the independent district transfer to and remain in effect under the new dependent district structure

Requires a stand-alone referendum election held on or before October 1, 2026, where qualified district electors must approve the conversion by majority vote, with election costs paid by the independent district

Effective date is October 1, 2026, contingent on voter approval; beginning that date, the independent district must wind down operations and transfer all assets and liabilities to the city
