Repeals Section 790.33, Florida Statutes, which currently preempts all firearm and ammunition regulation to the state Legislature and prohibits local governments from enacting their own firearms laws

Allows cities, counties, and other local jurisdictions in Florida to create their own firearms and ammunition regulations once state preemption is removed

Amends Section 790.251 to remove the reference to the preemption statute while maintaining existing protections for keeping firearms locked in private vehicles in employer parking lots

Effective date: July 1, 2026
