Appropriates $1.75 million from the General Revenue Fund to compensate the Estate of Danielle Maudsley, a 20-year-old who died after Florida Highway Patrol Trooper Daniel Cole used an electronic control device (taser) on her while she was handcuffed and fleeing a substation on September 19, 2011

Ms. Maudsley suffered traumatic brain injury from the fall caused by the taser, remained in a vegetative state, and died on September 15, 2013

A May 2015 settlement agreement valued the case at $1.95 million; the Division of Risk Management already paid $200,000 under statutory liability limits (s. 768.28), leaving $1.75 million to be paid through this claim bill

Payment will be reduced by any outstanding Medicaid liens for Ms. Maudsley's medical expenses and care

Attorney fees are capped at 25% of the $1.75 million appropriation
