Requires firearms (loaded or unloaded) and ammunition left in motor vehicles or vessels to be locked inside the trunk, a locked glove/utility box, or a locked container securely affixed to the vehicle or vessel when the owner is not present

Defines "trunk" as a fully enclosed, locked storage compartment not accessible from the passenger compartment, excluding pickup truck beds, hatchbacks, station wagons, and SUV rear areas

Violation constitutes a second-degree misdemeanor, punishable under Florida Statutes 775.082 or 775.083

Applies to both motor vehicles (as defined in s. 320.01) and vessels (as defined in s. 327.02) under a person's control
