Creates new section 626.9898, Florida Statutes, establishing whistleblower protections specifically for employees and independent contractors of property insurers

Prohibits property insurers, their agents, or affiliates from discharging, suspending, demoting, threatening, harassing, or taking other adverse actions against workers who disclose violations of law, unethical conduct, or fraudulent insurance practices

Protected disclosures must be made in good faith to governmental agencies or news media

Aggrieved employees or contractors may bring civil action within 2 years of discovering the violation or 4 years after the adverse action, whichever is earlier

Effective date of July 1, 2026
