Exempts from public records requirements petitions for injunctions for protection against "serious violence by a known person" that are dismissed without a hearing, dismissed at an ex parte hearing for failure to state a claim or lack of jurisdiction, or dismissed due to insufficiency of the petition without an injunction being issued

Makes confidential any information that could identify a petitioner or respondent in such injunction cases, along with affidavits, notices of hearing, and temporary injunctions, until the respondent has been personally served

Justifies the exemption by stating that unverified allegations in dismissed petitions may be defamatory and cause unwarranted reputational damage to individuals named

Protects identifying information before service to prevent threats to physical safety of petitioners, their families, and law enforcement officers serving the documents

Takes effect contingent on SB 32 or similar legislation being adopted in the same legislative session and becoming law
