Authorizes pharmacists to deliver medication-assisted treatment for substance use disorders when working for a licensed service provider, alongside physician assistants and nurses already permitted to do so

Requires pharmacists administering these medications to act under an established protocol with a supervising physician licensed under Florida law

Expands existing law allowing pharmacists to administer long-acting antipsychotic medications by injection to also include medications for the treatment of opiate addiction

Mandates pharmacists complete an 8-hour continuing education course on safe administration of behavioral health medications and opiate addiction treatment medications before providing these injections

Effective date of July 1, 2026
