Increases required pre-licensure course of study for home inspectors from 120 to 150 hours, adding coverage of state insurance inspections, wind mitigation, four-point inspections, roof certifications, Florida Building Code basics (8 hours minimum), and report writing with a practical component (8 hours minimum)

Changes continuing education requirements from 14 hours every 2 years to 20 hours every 3 years, with hurricane mitigation training increased from 2 to 4 hours and a new 2-hour Florida Building Code requirement added

Requires home inspectors to maintain both general liability insurance and errors and omissions insurance at $500,000 per policy, up from the previous $300,000 general liability requirement

Allows home inspectors to provide their license number instead of a physical copy of their license when making required disclosures to consumers before inspections

Takes effect July 1, 2026
