State universities and Florida College System institutions must waive tuition and fees for sheriff's office employees to enroll in up to 6 credit hours per term on a space-available basis, subject to approval by the sheriff

Sheriff's office employees eligible for the waiver include full-time sworn law enforcement officers, correctional officers, and civilian employees of the sheriff's office

Extends existing state employee tuition waiver benefits to all sheriff's office employees across Florida

Requires the Chief Financial Officer to work with institutions to provide easier verification of sheriff's office employment status

Effective date: July 1, 2026
