Revises licensure requirements for Level I adult cardiovascular programs (percutaneous cardiac intervention without onsite cardiac surgery) by removing minimum volume thresholds for diagnostic cardiac catheterizations and ischemic heart disease patients

Maintains requirement for Level I programs to have written transfer agreements with Level II programs, with 60-minute transfer protocols for most hospitals or flexible protocols for hospitals more than 100 road miles from the nearest Level II program

Retains Level II program requirements, including minimum of 1,100 cardiac catheterizations annually (at least 400 therapeutic) or 800 discharged patients with ischemic heart disease diagnosis

Expands required compliance standards to include guidelines from the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions and the Heart Rhythm Society (for electrophysiology services), in addition to existing American College of Cardiology and American Heart Association guidelines

Requires the Agency for Health Care Administration to update rules as new industry standards and guidelines are published, effective October 1, 2026
