Exempts from public records the home addresses, telephone numbers, dates of birth, and photographs of current legal assistants employed by the office of the public defender and the office of criminal conflict and civil regional counsel

Protects personal identifying and location information of spouses and children of such legal assistants, including names, home addresses, telephone numbers, dates of birth, places of employment, and school/day care facility locations

Defines "legal assistant" as any employee of these offices other than public defenders, assistant public defenders, criminal conflict and civil regional counsel, or assistant criminal conflict and civil regional counsel

Subject to the Open Government Sunset Review Act and will stand repealed on October 2, 2031, unless reenacted by the Legislature

Applies retroactively to information held by agencies before, on, or after the effective date of July 1, 2026
