Mandates training on best practices for screening maternal mental health disorders, the range of disorders, evidence-based treatment options, and when physicians should consult with or refer to psychiatrists

Requires treatment education to emphasize involving mothers in developing their own treatment plans

Directs licensing boards (or the Department of Health if no board exists) to periodically update the curriculum to reflect new research

Applies to practitioners in pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, psychiatry, and clinical psychology, with curriculum completion counting toward continuing education requirements

Takes effect July 1, 2026
