Removes the presumption against liability for owners or principal operators of multifamily residential properties if two or more specified violent crimes were reported at the property within the preceding 24 months

Specified crimes that trigger loss of liability presumption include: murder, robbery, sexual battery, aggravated assault, battery, kidnapping or false imprisonment, and crimes involving a firearm

Amends existing law (s. 768.0706, F.S.) that currently provides property owners a presumption against liability when they implement certain security measures

Effective date: July 1, 2026
