Prohibits counties and municipalities from enacting ordinances that prevent chickee construction in side yards if the structure is at least 10 feet from property lines and other structures

Defines "chickee" as an open-sided wooden hut with thatched palm/palmetto roof that may include a wooden deck and nonwood fasteners (nails, screws, bolts, hurricane straps) but no electrical or plumbing features

Exempts chickees from the Florida Fire Prevention Code if located at least 20 feet from other structures or if fireproofing measures are approved by a certified fire protection contractor

Creates a first-degree misdemeanor penalty for non-members of the Miccosukee Tribe or Seminole Tribe who construct chickees to circumvent Florida Building Code requirements

Prohibits local regulations on chickees that are more restrictive than federal floodplain management regulations, effective July 1, 2026
