Authorizes payment of $20,721,629.23 plus interest to Sean Hurley for injuries sustained when Orange County Deputy Sheriff Nicholas Orrizzi struck his motorcycle on November 15, 2019

A June 2023 jury found Deputy Orrizzi 100 percent negligent after he violated Hurley's right-of-way by pulling onto Red Bug Lake Road into the path of Hurley's motorcycle

Hurley suffered catastrophic injuries including broken legs, dislocated knees, pelvic fracture, and toe fractures, requiring eight surgeries, mechanical knee joint replacement, ankle fusion, and left knee reconstruction

The jury awarded $20,839,757 in total damages, including $8 million for past pain and suffering, $10 million for future pain and suffering, and $1.125 million for future medical expenses over 47 years

Attorney fees are capped at 25 percent of the total amount awarded, and this payment combined with the statutory amount under s. 768.28 constitutes sole compensation for all claims
