State attorneys, the statewide prosecutor, assistant statewide prosecutors, and special investigators would be added to the Special Risk Class of the Florida Retirement System, effective July 1, 2026

These newly eligible prosecutors and investigators would qualify for full retirement benefits after 25 years of creditable service without penalty

State attorneys would be removed from the Elected Officers' Class and instead included in the Special Risk Class

Assistant state attorneys and assistant statewide prosecutors would be removed from the Senior Management Service Class, which currently requires their compulsory participation

The Legislature declares the act fulfills an important state interest by providing fair and adequate retirement benefits managed in an actuarially sound manner
