The mail service charge for registration certificates and license plates will now include actual handling and envelope costs as determined by the department or tax collector, replacing the previous flat 25-cent handling charge

Tax collectors will retain 14.3% of certain motor vehicle registration fees that were previously deposited into the Highway Safety Operating Trust Fund

Fees for adding symbols to identification cards and driver licenses (such as the deaf/hard of hearing symbol or lifetime fishing/hunting license indicators) will be retained by tax collectors instead of being deposited into state trust funds

A general revenue service charge deduction (per section 215.20(1)) will apply to most fees retained by tax collectors, clerks of court, and other local processing entities
