Creates a 3-year pilot program developed by the Department of Education in cooperation with the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services' Farm to School program, to be offered in up to 10% of schools in any district beginning in the 2027-2028 school year

Requires participating schools to partner with local nonprofit organizations or food banks to redistribute edible cafeteria food and divert organic waste to composting programs

Mandates installation of cafeteria waste sorting systems and dishwashing systems (subject to legislative appropriation), with priority given to schools that previously operated dishwashing systems

Eliminates single-use plastics by replacing them with stainless steel reusable serving ware

Requires participating districts to submit annual reports tracking waste diverted from landfills, food donated, organic waste composted, single-use plastics eliminated, cost savings, and program barriers; pilot program expires July 1, 2030
