Creates public records exemptions for information held by the Department of Legal Affairs during investigations of violations related to companion chatbots for minors, bot-related consumer protections, and deidentified data consumer protections.

Makes all investigation-related information confidential and exempt from public disclosure until the investigation is completed or ceases to be active, to prevent jeopardizing ongoing investigations.

Requires certain information to remain permanently confidential after investigations conclude, including personal identifying information, computer forensic reports, data security weaknesses, and proprietary business information.

Allows the department to disclose confidential information during active investigations for official duties, public notification purposes, or sharing with other government entities.

Subject to automatic repeal on October 2, 2031 under the Open Government Sunset Review Act unless reenacted by the Legislature; effective date contingent on passage of SB 482 or similar legislation.
