Eliminates all compensation, per diem allowances, expense reimbursements, and travel cost reimbursements for members serving on approximately 130 state boards, commissions, authorities, and advisory entities across 27 titles of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated

Replaces existing compensation provisions with uniform language stating members "shall receive no compensation whatsoever" for their service on each affected entity

Expresses legislative intent that service on state boards and commissions is an honor, and that during "trying economic times" the state must expect members to serve with only the gratitude of the state as their reward

Affects a wide range of entities including the Board of Regents, State Board of Education, Georgia Ports Authority, State Transportation Board, Board of Natural Resources, State Election Board, State Ethics Commission, Georgia Lottery Corporation board, and dozens of professional licensing boards

Removes not only direct per diem payments (previously often set at the same rate as General Assembly members) but also reimbursements for travel, mileage, lodging, meals, conference fees, and all other expenses previously authorized for board and commission members who are not state employees
