GA SR1213

Georgia Senate Resolution 1213, introduced by Senator Harbison of the 15th District, recognizes and commends Mr. Junie Morrison Christian for his leadership and commitment to community welfare.

Originally from St. John's, Antigua in the West Indies, Mr. Christian became a U.S. citizen in 1991 and resides in Columbus, Georgia, where he serves as executive director of the Columbus Family Connection Partnership and hosts the Columbus Connection television show.

Mr. Christian served in the United States Army for over two decades, including service during Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm, and was named the Seventh Corp Retention Noncommissioned Officer of the Year in 1991.

He currently serves as board chairman of Enrichment Services, Inc., and holds board or advisory roles with numerous organizations including One Columbus, Valley Health Care, the Georgia Community Action Association, and the Columbus Youth Advisory Council.

The resolution directs the Secretary of the Senate to transmit a copy to Mr. Christian in recognition of his career and selfless service to the country and the State of Georgia.
