Mrs. Wilson was born on August 27, 1915, graduated as an honor student in 1932, and earned degrees from Agnes Scott College (bachelor's), Georgia State University (master's in special education), and Georgia Southern (education specialist)

She married John McKamie Wilson, Sr., on January 29, 1942, and they had four children: Mac Jr., Betsy, Cathy, and Glen

Mrs. Wilson had two careers at a time when few women worked outside the home, serving as a Red Cross social worker and as a high school vocational education/special education teacher at Decatur High School

She currently resides at Marsh's Edge on St. Simons Island, and the Secretary of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of the resolution to her
