Georgia Senate Resolution 1496, introduced by Senator James of the 35th, recognizes and commends Prodigal Sons and Daughters Ministries, Inc. (PS&D), a faith-based organization that motivates children and young adults to overcome past tragedy and reach their potential.

PS&D provides services to community organizations, family centers, and schools to help youth and families positively channel anger, loss, and everyday challenges, including social services and safe environments free from physical and substance abuse.

Key programs include the "I'm Still Here" Grief Assistance Program for children impacted by loss, a Conflict Management Series with six training sessions over four to six weeks, and the Total Victory Mentoring Program pairing youth with mentors for year-long relationships.

The Total Victory Development Center provides affordable housing, intensive services, education, training, and employment to teen parents.

The resolution also recognizes PS&D's inaugural Senior Idol Show scheduled for May 22, 2010, at the Performing Arts Center in Morrow, Georgia, and directs the Secretary of the Senate to transmit a copy of the resolution to the organization.
